MEGAN BRUCE
THE FULL JOURNEY OF

It can be challenging to write about yourself; however, my hope is that this autobiography will inspire someone who is struggling. This individual may be lacking life direction, and I pray that reading this will fill you with hope, that God can do wondrous miracles in the most broken of people; I am living proof of this through His mercy and grace.
I was born and raised in British Columbia, Canada. I grew up going to private Christian schools but never understanding what it meant to have a real relationship with God; truth be told, at the time, I simply saw the Bible as fictional story-time.
I also attended a prestigious boarding school on Vancouver Island, but I became a drifter and never seemed to have any stability or direction in my life. I struggled greatly with many things including discipline and consistency, and I was also a high school dropout. However, I decided to go back, and I graduated at 19.
I then attended Blanche Macdonald Centre and received a diploma for Professional Makeup Artistry. Shortly after, I made the decision to take Aesthetics, where I acquired another diploma. I then moved to Edmonton, Alberta, and then again to Calgary, Alberta, and continued to work for 10 years in the aesthetics industry. At the time I had a love for the industry, but I never saw my own potential, and I definitely never saw myself as a business owner. I lacked passion and much confidence in myself.
I then decided to go back to school to become a nurse. I did this partly because I wanted to help people. But in truth, partly because I knew it would impress my family, and score some brownie points. I was a people-pleaser hoping that just maybe, this would cause them to truly see me, and take me more seriously. I graduated as an LPN, and worked part-time as an aesthetician and a skincare trainer while finishing my nursing diploma. I then moved back to British Columbia where I worked in an assisted living community, and then I was hired on the covid-19 deployment team. I witnessed firsthand the devastation that covid had on the elderly and immunocompromised population.
I had a series of unfortunate circumstances relating to my health for several years, and took some much-needed time off to heal and reconvene. God never once took His hand off my life in this time, He always provided for me one way or another through the help of others.
I truly picked up my cross in the summer of 2022, and accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Saviour. I encountered some difficult to believe circumstances and heavy spiritual warfare, where God had me put in a spiritual chokehold. He tested me rigorously along the way, but He never let go of my hand.
The real test was when I was diagnosed with ovarian cancer at the end of 2023, and required a total abdominal hysterectomy at 36. Would I rise up? Or, would I allow this diagnosis to consume me. I chose to rise up, and allowed the Lord to strengthen me and propel me forward towards victory and success. If it were not for my true relationship with Jesus Christ, I would not be where I am.
The main point I pray you receive, is that regardless of all your downfalls and mess ups in life, the Lord still loves you immensely. He will meet you exactly where you are at, and transform your life into something beautiful all for His glory.
You only need to accept His offer to do so.
“My son, do not despise the chastening of the Lord, Nor detest His correction; For whom the Lord loves He corrects, Just as a father the son in whom he delights.“
Proverbs 3:11-12 NKJV
